Sunday Money Reset

4 screens · weekly, short, gentle

The weekly money check, kept short on purpose.

The Monthly Money Scan handles the big-picture sweep. The Sunday Money Reset is the in-between — a short weekly look at money-related things that don't need to wait for the monthly scan. Bills coming due this week, a transaction you flagged a few days ago, a decision you started thinking about last week and never finished.

Same shape as the Sunday Household Reset from the previous module: three to five things worth handling, in your money context, no pile-on. If nothing's actually urgent, the reset says so.

Run it on demand first.

Same approach as the Household Reset — run it manually once to see what comes back, then tune. Open Money Command Center and send:

Sample — Sunday Money Reset (on demand)
Sunday Money Reset for this week. Look across this Project — Money Reference, the most recent monthly scan, anything I've flagged or added during the week. Tell me the three to five money things worth handling this week. For each one: what it is, why now (bill due this week, decision in flight, simple fix while I have time), and what "doing it" actually means in one concrete sentence. Keep it short. Don't pad. If nothing's urgent, just tell me — "nothing urgent on the money side this week" is a valid answer.

Read what comes back. Tune the same way you did the Household Reset — tell Cowork to be stricter, to skip certain types of items, to add a "nice-to-handle but not urgent" section if you want that distinction.

Make it weekly.

Sample — schedule the reset
Set up a recurring scheduled task in this Project: every Sunday at 5pm, run my Sunday Money Reset using the rules and tuning we've established. Send me the result. Also save a copy as current-week-money-reset.md in this Project's folder, replacing the previous week's version each time.

Sunday at 5pm — late enough that the week's transactions have settled, early enough that you can act before Monday if anything needs handling.

Same awake-and-running caveat.

Scheduled tasks run only while your computer is awake and Claude Desktop is open. If your laptop's typically closed Sunday afternoon, either move the time earlier or use Amphetamine / Caffeine / PowerToys Awake to keep it awake through the scheduled window.

Optional dashboard add.

To surface the weekly money reset alongside your other dashboard blocks:

Add the weekly money items to your dashboard
Update my Family Dashboard's Money block. Right now it shows the top three items from the monthly scan. Add a small section underneath called "This week" that shows the items from current-week-money-reset.md. Keep both brief — three each, max. Save the updated dashboard.

If you already added a Money block during the Monthly Scan lesson, this extends it. If you didn't, you can do both at once now.

Money & Bills — done.

That's the module. The Project, the monthly scan that catches what drifts, the keep-cancel-dispute workflow for decisions, and the weekly reset.

What you built across this module

  • Money Command Center Project with a privacy-safe Money Reference file
  • The Monthly Money Scan — Cowork reads your statements and surfaces forgotten subscriptions, spending pattern changes, upcoming auto-renewals, and possible billing errors
  • Bills, Renewals & Subscriptions workflow — the four-question decision framework, cancellation request drafts, dispute letter template, annual recurring-cost summary
  • Sunday Money Reset — short weekly money check, scheduled to run on its own

Five Phase 4 modules done. Two more available: Trips & Big Weeks (the temporary-Project pattern for events that change everything for a week or two) and The Just-In-Case Binder (the household "if something happened to me tomorrow" template). Or stop here — what you've built keeps working without anything else.
